Delivering Innovative Maritime Decarbonisation Research

The Exploration and Responsive Research Council (ERRC) assesses progress and outcomes for each research exploration work package, defined by the 5 core themes underpinning UK-MaRes Hub’s research:

  1. Advancing the scale up of marine fuels & their safe use.
  2. New and efficient low-carbon power & propulsion systems.
  3. Decarbonised energy systems, port & infrastructure.
  4. Reducing energy demand through advanced vessel design and increased efficiency.
  5. Advances in maritime operations, exploitation of digitalisation and green finance.

The ERRC is responsible for the assessment, selection, progress monitoring and integration of responsive research flexible fund projects to further enhance and expand the Hub’s maritime decarbonisation research activity, harnessing research expertise beyond the core consortium. The ERRC is instrumental in planning and monitoring publication and other dissemination activities including, but not limited to the collation of data and outputs of the UK-MaRes Hub.
