Shaping Policy Development

Providing advice and evidence, through policy briefings and papers for policymakers. By working with the Clean Maritime Research Partnership, policy experts, the DfT, DHLUC, DESNZ and local government the Clean Maritime Policy Unit (CMPU) contributes towards policy development aimed at overcoming barriers and supporting rapid transition to a cleaner maritime sector.

This is being facilitated through:

  1. Creating connections between academics and civil partners to ensure that research supports the development and review of policy in relation to clean maritime transition and implementation.
  2. Developing close working relations with policy makers as well as regional and national civic bodies to drive forward policy relevant maritime innovation.
  3. Hosting activities to ensure regular, bilateral communication and knowledge exchange between policy makers and the UK-MaRes Hub.
