Dr Ioannis Moutzouris and Professor Ioannis Kyriakou will be hosting the “Navigating Net Zero: Economic, Financial, and Insurance Insights into Sustainable Shipping” event at Bayes Business School, London, on Tuesday, 24th June 2025.

“This event will present recent findings from pioneering research conducted at Bayes on the economic, financial, and insurance aspects of shipping’s net-zero transition. A panel comprising ship owners and financiers, senior market analysts, and insurance experts will provide industry insights into the transition and its business and economic implications. Bayes is a core member of the UK National Clean Maritime Research Hub, leading on the “Advances in maritime operations, exploitation of digitalisation and green finance” theme of the project. The conducted research has been informing both industry and policy makers.”

Clean Maritime Assembly 2025

Building on our Clean Maritime Conference last year, the UK National Clean Maritime Research Hub is pleased to announce its first Clean Maritime Assembly!

We invite you to join us for this exciting event where you’ll have the opportunity to connect with sector experts and academics passionate about sustainable maritime innovation. We’re delighted to be holding this Assembly in Liverpool (UK) on 25th and 26th June 2025 at Liverpool John Moores University. 

Across the two days, we will shine a spotlight on the themes of Fuels & Safety, Power & Propulsion, Vessel Design & Efficiency, Finance & Economics, Ports, and Digitalisation. Each session will be designed to showcase the latest research and developments from the Hub and the wider maritime community, with presentations from leading researchers, industry experts, and policymakers, alongside Q&A panel discussions, research and technology carousels, poster exhibitions, and lots more!

You will have the flexibility to personalise your experience by choosing the sessions that align most closely with your interests and professional needs. This tailored approach will ensure that you gain the most relevant and valuable insights from the event.

Maritime Research Conference 2024

The UK National Clean Maritime Research Hub hosted it’s first Clean Maritime Research Conference at Bayes Business School, City University, London, on the 3rd July 2024.

The event saw industry experts and academics coming together to hear about the research going on across the Hub.

Across the day, the conference featured 3 sessions covering:

  • Clean Maritime: A Finance and Policy Perspective
  • Innovation in Maritime Fuels and Safety
  • Powering Ahead: Port Operations, Infrastructure & Power and Propulsion

In addition to the stimulating line-up of insightful presentations, interactive Q&A panel discussions took place alongside networking opportunities connecting stakeholders passionate about sustainable maritime innovation.
