Summary:

This project investigates the shore-based individual skills and organisational capabilities required to enable maritime decarbonisation across the UK maritime supply chain. Focusing on commercial actors including ship operators, ports, logistics intermediaries, brokers, and maritime service providers, it employs a structured survey as the primary method.

The survey assesses the perceived importance and current availability of key skills and capabilities. Exploratory factor analysis and importance–gap analysis are used to identify core dimensions and priority development areas to generate evidence to inform workforce development, industry guidance and policy discussion.
